Design the website in Figma or build the normal parts directly in Lay Theme. AI Mode works best when the design and the desired behaviour are clearly defined before the element is coded.

AI builds the custom element

Connect Claude or Codex to Lay Theme and describe what should happen. AI Mode gives the assistant access to the tools it needs to create Custom Elements, Custom Fields and the related code.

You decide what stays editable

Text, images, links and other content can become fields in WordPress. The finished element follows the custom design while the content can still be managed without editing the code.

Mix custom work with normal layouts

A website does not need to be completely custom-built. Insert a Custom Element into the Gridder and continue building the rest of the page with the normal Lay Theme tools.

AI Mode is optional

Lay Theme works without AI Mode. Use it when a project needs a more complex interaction, a tailored presentation or a content structure that goes beyond the standard layout tools.
