Before you post on the Forum:

  1. Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
  2. Disable all Plugins
  3. Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"
  4. When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.

License Keys & Lost Files

Reset License Keys

To reset your key, on www.laykeymanager.com just click "deactivate" next to a website address that is no longer in use:

This frees up an activation for your key.

Why was my License Key deactivated?

Lay Theme checks from time to time if the current website address is still registered on your License Key. If the current domain is not listed on your key anymore, the key is deactivated for this website.

This can happen when you moved your website to another domain, switched from a staging domain to the live domain, restored a backup, copied a website, or removed a domain from your key on laykeymanager.com.

To fix it:

  1. Open www.laykeymanager.com and check which domains are registered on your key.
  2. Click "Deactivate" next to old, wrong, development, or unused domains. This frees up an activation.
  3. Open your WordPress admin on the website you want to use and go to Lay Options → License Key.
  4. Activate the same License Key again there.

If the Key Manager says remote deactivation is not possible because the website uses an old Lay Theme version, deactivate the key directly in that website's WordPress admin: Lay Options → License Key.

If the website is offline or you cannot access the old WordPress admin anymore, use the Deactivate button in the Key Manager. If that does not work, send an email to info@laytheme.com.

Upgrade your License, from Single License to Pro License for example.
